Day 1- Switzerland

We have been home from Europe for almost a month now and I haven't blogged about it. Oops. I will post about it day by day. Since the blog is supposed to be somewhat of a journal, I want to make sure I remember each day. I can't believe it's over. I've been dreaming about this trip forever and then BAM... it's gone. Tear. As much as we all loved it, there are some parts of being home that are the best! My own soft pillow, washer and dryer to be used whenever I want, our shower, ice, water for under $5, Diet Coke that actually tastes like Diet Coke, and of course... the best one yet... I don't have to pay to go to the bathroom! Seriously... what is that? I'm not a fan...

Anyways, after some confusion with our flights we arrived in Frankfurt, Germany a little late, but we made it none the less. From there we hopped on a train that would take us to Switzerland where we would spend a few days. Switzerland is one of the most amazing places I have ever seen. Pictures really don't do it justice. Our first day in Switzerland we headed up to the top of the Jungfrau which they call, "The Top of Europe." To get up there we took several cog trains and then caught a train that takes you up through the mountain. It was such a great view.

Me and Bri at the top. The ledge we are standing on hung out from the cliff, there was nothing underneath us besides the metal we stood on. He was freaked out :)

Doug, Shayla and Me

On the top they also have ice caves, which I loved. Even the floors were ice which made for some entertaining falls- mostly by the Asian tourists, but Shayla joined in at one point.

After we headed back down the mountain to get some dinner. At dinner we couldn't decide if we needed to tip, or if it was included in the bill. We made Whitney go back and give the waitress an extra tip which led to an awkward hand-holding experience. Whit thinks the waitress is pretty sure she was trying to hit on her. Ha. After dinner we had to wait for the train, don't worry... we found ways to entertain ourselves. I'm pretty sure we confirmed every ones thoughts that we were "stupid Americans."

We were sleep deprived, okay? Well enough of me... here are a few more pictures and videos from our first real day in Switzerland.

Yeah, I have been waiting for this post forever! I thought maybe you'd be on top of it and blog these experiences every NIGHT while you were there. Turns out I was so wrong. Love the pictures. LOVE the video of you jumping 7 inches off the ground. Make sure day 2 is not posted in another month. I can't wait that long.
