I left my heart...

Ever since my senior year of high school, I have been obsessed with San Francisco. Mainly because of the trip we took as part of our Art History class. I love everything about it. The trolleys, Fisherman's Wharf, Ghirardelli Square, Alcatraz... all of it! Brian, knowing this, surprised me with a road-trip out there to do a little sight seeing and also to see Jim Gaffigan. ( Yes I know that he is the better spouse. I am very aware of this. Just in case anyone felt the need to point this out... yet again). I love a good road-trip, especially when the road-trip consists of me snacking on the treats my mom got us, and watching movies basically the whole way.

First day...
One of my favorite things from my trip to San Francisco before was Alcatraz. I thought it was so interesting. This time, we decided it might be fun to do a night tour. It's basically the same except we were able to see the hospital wing, which was pretty creepy.

After that we went to dinner. Oh my. I don't even know where we ended up going to dinner, but I got the best salmon I have ever had. Seriously, the best. Sometimes I find myself thinking about that meal. Don't judge.

We then headed off to Jim Gaffigan. He of course was a treat. So funny, and a lot of new material. He is one of my favorites. He is pretty clean too, which I love. I've heard that some of his older stuff isn't the best, but the new stuff is good. I think the show started at 10:30 or something like that. Which would make it 11:30 Utah time. By the end of the show I was having trouble staying awake. When did I become such a grandma? At least I wasn't drooling this time.

Second Day...
We headed straight to Fisherman's Wharf. I love it there. We had lunch and it was incredible too. I am not embarrassed to say that I would move there for the food alone. We had: shrimp cocktail in a sourdough bread bowl, turkey and avocado on a croissant, tuna salad on a sourdough roll, and clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl. Yes this all for two people. And no we didn't have leftovers. I could have done without the clam chowder-and not because it wasn't good. Bad experience once...I'm sure you can fill in the blanks.

After lunch we strolled around looking in shops and walking past all the sidewalk vendors. Some of which made me laugh. Like the little man saying "churros, churros" under his breath. You would have thought he was selling drugs. And of course the encounter with Bush Man. I'm glad Brian got to see him while we were there. I have to admit, Bush Man has got the better of me before...

We then headed to Ghirardelli Square. Let's take a moment for the jealousy to sink in...
Okay.. It was even better than I remember. Ice cream and I go hand in hand of course, but Ghirardelli Square around the holidays... with all the twinkle lights and Christmas music playing. Sigh...

We finished up that last day by shopping a little in downtown San Francisco. It was a short trip but very fun. Thanks Bri for a fun surprise. Someday, I might be able to be the better half. Stop laughing Mom. It could happen...

Wow. Weird. NO ONE has left you any comments. Huh. Maybe I'm not the only one who wants a little reciprocation, hmmmm?

Around the holidays? Did you go there this weekend, or was it a few months ago?

I am jealous of Alcatraz (you need to read "Al Capone Does My Shirts"), and all of those pictures of the food. Mmmmmm . . . sourdough. Dream trip!

Also, is that, like, your only outfit? I think both times I've seen you, you've been wearing that khaki hat . . .

I don't feel bad about your rude comment. Hats mean I don't have to do my hair which = happy.

It's kinda ironic that Cori is wearing that hat today... She tries to be like me. It's cute.

Also, I enjoyed your use of the word 'like' in that last paragraph.

But even with the well-used hat, you can still see shadows of those freakishly huge eyeballs. I'm confused about the size of your food portions and the size of your body, but not so much Brian...(j/k Brian :)

Sad that one of the (now) four comments is your own. And two are mine. Maybe if you showed a little comment-love, other people would want to tell you what they think of your little S.F.R.T.

I am glad Brian got to see bush man:) He got me good once and it was even when I was looking for him. I headed in the direction I knew he should be but stopped to take a picture of something and when I started walking again he lunged at me from out of nowhere and I screamed while jumping sideways!! Ha ha ha it was awesome:0

I am soo jealous! I would like you to remember that first trip to San Fran was with me. That seriously was the best ever! I was drooling over the food (minus the seafood of course, ok, so basically the bread and dessert. Who is the chubby one now?) When did you do this?
